damn the government

You know that anti-pot commercial where the grandma is waiting at the kitchen table with dinner ready, and she looks so lonely and worried, and then she reaches over and fixes the place setting, and the voice-over says, "Just tell your grandma that you couldn't make it to dinner because you got high."

I don't smoke pot but it still makes me feel guilty EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Yeah, I just ran and emailed my grandma.

Me too. It's so sad!

And there's one where that irresponsible pot smoker leaves his little brother sitting on the curb, waiting for him. Brings a tear to my eye.

I think I saw one where the kid brother is left at school or at a park waiting for his pot addicted brother...makes me call my brother everytime!

I think you are the only person in the history of the world whose grandma is reachable via e-mail.

I am sure that the commercials are sad ... but I find it kind of annoying that they're attaching it to smoking pot. I mean ... I *do* smoke pot sometimes, and I've never blown off a soul as a result.

That probably has something to do with my age, and I do support the idea that teenagers and early 20-somethings should NOT be exposed to the relaxation and floatiness of pot-smoking, b/c they more than likely do not have the self control to keep it to appropriate times, but still. Pot doesn't make you blow off your grandmother. Irresponsibility does.
